Hi, my name is Eva-Lotta Lamm. I'm a Designer, Illustrator and Visual Thinker based in Berlin. I grew up in Germany, worked in Paris and London for a few years before packing up my backpack to go travelling the world for 14 months. I have over 12 years of experience working on digital products as an in-house designer for Google, Skype, and Yahoo! as well as freelancing and consulting for various agencies and her own clients.

I love sketching and drawing in all its forms. It is just a great way to clarify my thoughts, communicate ideas, develop concepts and remember things better and for longer. I use sketching extensively in my UX design projects – both on my own as well as with clients, colleagues and stakeholders. Sketching is a great tool for collaboration.

Besides my UX work, I also regularly take sketchnotes at all sorts of talks and conferences. First and foremost my sketchnotes are a way for me to remember the interesting concepts of the talks. During my world trip, I used sketching to keep a visual travel diary, capturing each day's interesting moments, people and things I learned.

I teach sketching, sketchnoting and visual thinking and I'm a regular speaker at international design conferences.

I've illustrated two wonderful UX books: Content Everywhere by Sara Wachter-Boettcher and The User’s Journey by Donna Lichaw, both published by Rosenfeld Media.

In my personal sketching practice, I am exploring the area of Visual Improvisation – looking at the parallels between sketching and improvisation to explore how some of the principles from my regular theatre improvisation practice can be used to inspire visual work.
