Reflecting on the year in a visual way

Here we are, a few days before the end of 2020, in this special and slightly weird period between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. To me, these days always feel a bit like time is suspended. Everything is calm, silent, still (and this year maybe even more than ever). For me it is a time to look back, look ahead and most of all, look inside. What happened? What was good? What was difficult? What changed – around me and inside of me? What do I wish for the future?

A template for visual reflection

To capture some of my broader reflections and to make them accessible and memorable for me, I like to make them visual. I created the little visual template you can see below that has space to answer 3 simple questions.

You can download the template here.

Once you downloaded the template, just print it out and fill the open spaces – writing, drawing, collaging or a mixture of everything. Anything is allowed. It’s your space to play with. You can keep the filled sheet in a safe place and look back on it in a year’s time or you can put it up visibly on your wall as a little reminder and a guiding star throughout the next year.

I hope you will have a lovely remaining few days of 2020 and will transition safely and happily into the New Year. See you on the other side!
